Euro-Pro Toaster Oven To284 Factory Serviced

The door on our last Black and Decker Toaster Oven wouldn't stay closed, so we were in the market for a new one. I hadn't been thrilled with my last two ovens (both B & D) so I decided to check out other "low priced" brands. I could get this Euro Pro for a great price at KMart, and decided to check out customer reviews before purchasing it. The reviews were pretty mixed and I almost didn't buy it. But the price, size, features, and "look" was right, so I bought it anyway. Boy am I glad I did.

This toaster oven is GREAT. Contrary to MANY other reviews, bread DOES NOT take a long time to toast in this oven. One read through the instructions tells you that you must have the TEMP setting at its highest level in order to get the best toasting results. I can only believe that customers who complained about the toasting ability have either NOT read the instructions OR are writing about a different model (like one reviewer who complained about the convection feature--this model is not a convection oven!).

We use this great little oven for small baking needs, toasting, etc, and have been VERY happy. It looks great on the counter, is VERY easy to clean, has 2 wire racks and a baking tray, and runs much cooler than my previous TO's (both Black & Decker).

I highly recommend this great oven.

The first one I received didn't work. I sent in a quiry received a reply and got postage to send it back UPS. I did and within days the replacement came. It works fine. I like the controls on it. Is there some type of oven that didn't heat up my kitchen, was portable and easy to keep clean? Yes! The Morning Ware Flavor Oven is all this and more. I am one of those people who enjoy fish but can not stand the odors that seem to linger long after the fish is a memory. Cooking with light seems to reduce the odors as well as keep all the spatters inside the unit. This oven is the answer to beautifully done fish and a clean up that is a breeze. All the parts are dishwasher safe...made with a strong plastic shell which makes it easy to handle.

I had to search for recipes, but did find a site on Yahoo that has more than enough user recipes. The only reason I give the oven a 4 stars is because I am still in an experimenting stage...and being a skeptic, I'm still looking for a flaw.

I do not understand why everyone is having such problems with belts and such. I use my oven 2-3 times EVERY week since I bought it 8 years ago...NO PROBLEMS! I do give it rests while I am cooking about every 15 or 20 minutes, so it doesn't overheat. Maybe that's why I've had such good luck. This is my FAVORITE kitchen gadget I own. If you can find one at a 2nd hand shop, by all means BUY IT! Well worth having. When hurricane Ike hit, we used this in the motel room every day 3-4 times a day to cook everything. It was a life saver. Great, great product! Oh and by the way, I bought mine 2nd hand, not new. And like I said, NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!!!

It roasts, bakes, toasts, and steams (inside foil packets containing liquid) food and uses hot air to simulate broiling and frying. I purchased this oven one month ago and have used it quite often. It is almost as good as advertised but there are a few problems that require modification. I have broiled steak and chicken, baked roast beef, meat loaf and chicken. Everything I have cooked has turned out quite tasty; that said this oven needs options that are more specific: for example, you do not have a choice of inputting the size of the item you are cooking and whether or not you are cooking it frozen or fresh. The main menu allows you to alter the temperature and cooking time, but the bake or broil menu only allows you to change the cooking time. It takes some experimentation, but overall I am quite pleased with the quality of the food I have cooked.

In addition, it is easy to clean and customer service is quite helpful. Unfortunalty nobody can tell me what the default temperature is if I select from the bake menu. I have never cooked frozen beef or chicken in my life,so pretty much it is guesswork.
I seem to have figured out everything by trial and error and I highly recommend this product.In reality the intelligence factor should take into consideration if you are cooking frozen food. Overall, I highly recommend this product. JUST REMEMBER, YOU HAVE TO USE COMMON SENSE AND FIGURE OUT WHAT TIME AND TEMPERATURE YOU WISH TO COOK AT.Once you get the hang of it you will be able to cook anything you want and the food will come out cooked to your liking.

Throughout my adult life, I remember my siblings and I laughing at my parents for constantly buying new toasters. This toaster is five star to me because you can't beat the price and the performance. I am not comparing it to the expensive convection ovens. For an very inexpensive toaster oven you just can't beat the features, the price and the performance. It toasts evenly. It bakes evenly. I tried to bake some Pillsbury Crescent rolls and it did a better job than my regular oven. It has a wonderful timer feature that you can set up to 20 minutes. You can also opt to leave it on in the stay on mode. There are toaster settings. Best to watch the item you are toasting the first few times and know the time for your specific bread. It holds three large bakery style loaf bread slices. It does so much more quickly than the last Black and Decker model I had. The pull our crumb tray feature is a real time saver. Whether I need to cook fish, meat, or heat a hot sandwich, toast, or reheat...I find it incredibly wonderful for the price. THere are small saftey protusions in the back of unit so you keep it the proper distance from any touching surface. What more can I say? If you want a toaster over that is not reinventing the wheel then this is the model!! How can you beat .99?! Besides all this it does look nice. It is compact at just 9" deep x 16" long x 8.5" tall. Amazon had the wrong size listed on their site. I bought it from SEARS because they had a much better price.

How to Replace your Broken Oven Element

The oven element in your electric range can burn out at any time. Unfortunately it always seems to happen at the most inopportune times, such as the week before Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Most elements do give warnings before burning out. They will often have a bright spot that will be noticed by the homeowner, just prior to burning out. If your element has a bright spot replace it as soon as possible. Waiting for the element to burn out is inadvisable because the oven thermostat or other electric components can be affected.

In all aspects of this job safety must come first. Use only the manufacturers original parts, not a cheaper substitute. Only attempt this repair when you have enough time, and patience, to do it properly. Remember, you will be dealing with 240 volts - that’s twice as much power as flows through your regular household circuits. Only attempt this repair with another adult present.

If you feel confident in your ability to safely replace an oven element then try the following method:

1… Disconnect range from electrical power, either by unplugging or turning off breakers. Pull range away from wall so all sides can be accessed.

2… Remove rear panel of range to expose the element wiring. Identify which element you suspect being burnt out.

3… Carefully remove the element wiring. They are usually screwed on connections. Avoid breaking the connections or stripping the screw head with your screwdriver.

4… Go to the front of the range. Locate the screws securing the element within the oven cavity. This may require a flashlight because they are usually covered in debris. Again use caution not to harm the screw heads. The screws may be very tight and will require patience to remove without harming. If the screws will not turn they will have to be drilled out using a high-speed drill. If this becomes necessary use caution not to chip the oven interior.

5… Remove the oven element. If it’s broken avoid touching the pieces with your bare hands. The pieces can be very sharp. Plus, the white powdered insulation contains harmful chemicals.

6… Proceed to a parts store to obtain a replacement. Make certain you have your make, model, and serial number. Manufacturers use a vast variety of elements. Each model, type, configuration, and wattage requirements will determine which element was installed in your range.

7… Install the new element and secure it with the screws. If the holes in the mounting plate don’t align you will have to drill holes in the cabinet interior. Carefully drill holes in the cabinet using a high-speed drill. Use caution not to let drill slip to avoid damaging or chipping the interior liner.

8… From the rear of the range reconnect the element wiring. Don’t bent the electrical connections or allow the screws to strip the threads. If the wiring is burnt the insulation must be cut back to expose undamaged wire. Cut the insulation back using a knife or wire-stripping tool.

9… With the new element installed plug the range back into the electricity. Start the oven and allow to run for five minutes. Disconnect the electricity and quickly feel the wiring insulation at the element connections. They should feel slightly warm, but not hot. A hot connection indicates a poor connection, or the possible failure of other components associated with the oven. If hot, it will be necessary to remove it and redo. Once satisfied with connections replace the rear panel and reinstall into counter.

10… Test the oven operation. All elements should go off and on as per normal.

11… Final step is to do a test run of the oven temperature. If you have an oven thermometer allow the oven to cycle off three or four times at a regular baking temperature. The thermometer should indicate same temperature at which the oven dial is set. As a confirmation bake something such as muffins or cookies as your test substance.

As the preceding has shown, replacing a burnt element is not a difficult repair. But, it is certainly one that should only be attempted by someone who is confident around electricity. If you are uncertain about your ability around high voltage, telephone an appliance repairperson for help.

An appliance repairperson can have your element replaced, tested, and operating in less than an hour. Less time than it will take you to find the part. Also, they will have all the tools and testers required to do the job quickly and safely.
